Wilson leads five players in double figures, Glenville State wins sixth game in a row

Great news from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference ...

GLENVILLE STATE NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN'S TEAM

Coach Bunky Harkleroad has his squad on a roll at the right time. Tenisha Wilson had 22 points to lead five players in double figures and Glenville State cruised to its sixth victory in a row by beating Davis & Elkins 96-67 Wednesday night.

Ginny Petties made four 3-pointers and scored 17 points, Beth Deren (13 points) and Kenyell Goodson (11 points) each connected on three 3s and Mishae Miles finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Pioneers (14-4, 12-2 WVIAC). Kind of an odd System game in that Davis & Elkins attempted five more shots than Glenville State -- and only one fewer from beyond the arc -- but had a difficult time making them.

The Senators (10-9, 9-6) shot 27 percent for the game and turned it over on 24 occasions.

Regardless of how it game, the victory allowed the Pioneers to stay just ahead of West Virginia Wesleyan in the standings, with Concord lurking right behind both of them.

This game capped a four-game homestand for Glenville State, which travels to Seton Hill on Saturday for a 2 p.m. EST start. I hope for the best for Coach Harkleroad and his team.
